For the past 150 years, Mars Hill has challenged its students to excel spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. Mars Hill students participate in a variety of formative experiences that allow them to practice genuine discipleship, sharpen their skills, and grow hearts for service. They are encouraged to use their talents to the glory of God and for the betterment of their communities. Mars Hill’s excellent academic program is enhanced by daily Bible classes and chapel services. The school also includes a broad range of extracurricular activities, including athletic programs, fine arts, service organizations, and leadership opportunities.

Since its reopening in 1947, MHBS has operated with full accreditation from the Alabama State Department of Education. Since 1971, the school has been fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), now known as Cognia. Supplementing its Cognia accreditation is Mars Hill's designation as a Cognia STEM-certified school. MHBS was the first private school in the state of Alabama and the first K-12 school in the Shoals area to attain this achievement.

Over 95% of MHBS graduates go on to receive a post-secondary education. Student ACT scores compare favorably to other schools in the state of Alabama. Many students go on to earn postgraduate degrees in medicine, pharmacy, and law.

MHBS teachers utilize cutting-edge methods and technology to prepare students for success in the 21st century, but the mission of Mars Hill Bible School remains unchanged. Over 150 years later, MHBS still abides by the powerful words once spoken by T.B. Larimore: “We loved one another, and love ruled the school.”
