VIRTUAL TOUR

MHBS Open House 2021.jpg

Welcome to Mars Hill Bible School! We are thrilled that you've joined us to learn more about the exceptional education MHBS can offer your child.

Mars Hill Bible School has always been a special place. Our founder, T.B. Larimore, believed that children excel with a Christian education and a school filled with the love of Jesus Christ. It’s been 150 years since the doors first opened in 1871, and we are still striving to instill those same foundational principles in each and every student. As we prepare for another exceptional school year in 2021-22, we are focusing on “Leading the Way and Lighting the Path.”

At MHBS, we are leading the way in academics. In 2019, MHBS became the first private school in the state of Alabama to receive STEM certification from Cognia (AdvancED/SACS). The class of 2020 collectively earned over $3 million total scholarship dollars (an average of over $76,000 per student). Ninety-three percent of the class is continuing education at a 2-year or 4-year college or university. Their collective ACT scores were also outstanding, with 53% of the class scoring 24 or above.  On top of these remarkable scores, 95% of the class took at least one course for dual credit.  The total number of hours was 668 (an average of 22 hours per student), placing these graduates in a strong position as they transition to university studies.

We're also leading the way in extracurricular opportunities. Our students show an exemplary level of dedication, diligence, and character in a wide range of areas. If you have attended a Mars Hill show choir performance, robotics competition, or football game, you have only seen the tip of the iceberg…. From STEM projects to coding club and from band concerts to fishing tournaments, Mars Hill students experience it all! Our primary goal in each of our many extracurricular activities is always to instill integrity, work ethic, and eternal truths into the hearts of our students. That, for Mars Hill, is the true measure of success.

Finally, we are lighting the path for spiritual growth. The most important thing we do is to provide daily spiritual nourishment during chapel and Bible classes, a Christ-centered worldview in every subject taught on our campus, and a continual emphasis on teaching every child to think like Jesus. Our faculty is dedicated to forming our students into the people God has called them to be. School-wide service projects, retreats, and spiritual emphasis days help our parents as they strive to give their children a spiritual foundation that will last for eternity.
