MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL

For middle and high schoolers, MHBS provides an exceptional education that prepares students for future success. In an effort to educate the whole child, Mars Hill Bible School’s focus on mind, heart, body, and soul shapes the curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities afforded to students during their middle and high school years. This formative experience combines rigorous academic standards with outstanding arts and athletic programs in a loving and Christ-like environment. Students are challenged to become analytical thinkers, effective communicators, and servant leaders.

Our students learn at the highest levels, with 98% of graduates continuing to post-secondary education. MHBS middle and high school teachers are committed to the success of the individual student, and they serve as mentors to students both inside and outside the classroom. MHBS offers high school students a modified block schedule with a full menu of academic core classes, including many honors courses. In addition, students have opportunities to earn college credit in Early Scholar and Dual Credit classes through our academic partnerships with the University of North Alabama and Northwest Shoals Community College. Opportunities such as Job Shadowing and Career Fairs afford students real-world experience as they plan their academic and professional lives. Test scores and alumni feedback/success indicate the curriculum, teaching, and rigor are successful in preparing students for their futures.

Our 1:1 technology initiative provides high school students with 21st century learning opportunities while advancing our school’s STEM and technology goals. Educators engage in continuing education classes and in-services throughout the year to stay up-to-date on emerging technology and to help students engage in digital life maturely and responsibly.

Finally and most importantly, daily Bible classes and chapel encourage students’ spiritual formation, and other extra-curricular organizations, such as Ambassadors and Daughters of the King, support the faith-based mission of the school while providing service opportunities for our students. A highlight of the year, Life Retreat provides an opportunity for students to engage in a two-day, off-campus fall retreat to advance our mission to prepare our students for Christian living and for eternity.
