The Panther Track Team is the oldest Athletic Team on campus. It operated, unofficially, throughout the 1950s.

YOUNG CROSS-COUNRY SQUAD QUALIFIES FOR STATE!

The Panther Cross-Country team came off the starting line in a hurry and improved throughout the year, racing to a third-place finish in Section IV and qualified for the state finals where they finished in the top ten. Boys' team members who qualified for the state meet were Will Harrison, Jordan Holt, Tarek Elkaffass, Austin Penter, Drew Black, Thomas Swinea, Harrison Chastain, Zane Patterson, Chris Clark and Jeremy Harper. Molly Ridgway qualified in the Girls' division. They also earned a Third Place Finish in the Brooks Invitational in the 100-degree heat of September. Senior Will Harrison, running cross-country for the first time, finished 6th in the meet. The boys team finished 17th out of 49 schools in a downpour at UAH. The Panthers finished second in the meet at Lexington on September 27. Top finishers for the Panther teams were Will Harrison (boys) and Molly Ridgeway (girls).

Cross-country team members prepare for a 47-school meet at UAH. The squad qualified for the state finals for the first time in recent years and, with several underclassmen returning for the 2012-2013 season, look for continued improvement under Coach Matt Heupel.
