Why Should You Consider a Mars Hill Education?
The Bottom Line: What’s the most important thing you can give your children? In today’s world, secular pressures overwhelm most children. Numerous studies over the past 30-40 years testify that most churches retain only 10-20% of their children. The vast majority leave the church. Mars Hill Bible School believes in educating the total child—that means teaching spiritual values. Mars Hill students who come from church backgrounds and who attend Mars Hill several years, tend to remain faithful. Mars Hill Bible School is not perfect; neither are its students, teachers, nor administrators, but the bottom line is Mars Hill Bible School students are taught to love and appreciate God, Jesus and the Bible. When instruction at school reinforces instruction they receive at church and in the home, the chances a student will remain faithful increase greatly.
Your child will have Christian role models. Again, while we certainly do not claim perfection, we do make every effort humanly possible to see that your children are taught, coached, and inspired by adults who share your values.
Your child will be loved as well as taught. As parents, you love your children and want only the best for them; we expect every teacher and staff member at Mars Hill to share that desire. Mars Hill offers a positive, family atmosphere which centers around building strong, loving relationships between students and Christian adults.
Your child will receive a quality education. The evidence of academic excellence at Mars Hill Bible School speaks for itself. You do not have to surrender academics to receive a quality Christian education. Cumulative ACT scores by our seniors consistently surpass national and state averages by significant margins. Last year, our 50 seniors earned more than $1.25 million in scholarships and have been admitted to Princeton, the honors program at the University of Virginia, Vanderbilt, and the University of Pennsylvania in addition to many other fine universities. Two '09 MHBS grads (a dozen over the past five years) received Presidential Scholarships to the University of Alabama. Nearly 75% of this year’s seventh graders qualified to participate in the Duke Talent Search. Last year, three students were state winners and two were national winners. Mars Hill Bible School has been recognized three times by the United States Department of Education as a National School of Excellence.
Your child will receive opportunities to develop his/her talents in a number of fields. Mars Hill encourages students to develop a diversity of talents. We have superb band, choral, drama, debate, and athletic programs as well as a wide array of extracurricular opportunities and many students are active in several different programs.
Your child will be taught the importance of community and nation. Our students engage in many age-appropriate community service and patriotic programs.
What about the cost? A quality Christian education at Mars Hill Bible School costs much less than you might imagine. It’s also far less than a comparable education in private schools throughout the nation. Even so, Mars Hill is able to offer need-based scholarships for those who want their child to receive a Christian education. We will work with you in every way possible. Please give us the opportunity to assist you in making your dreams for your children come true. It’s very likely, that somewhere in the future, they will be eternally grateful.
