Summer Reading

THE IMPORANCE OF 'REGULAR' READING

Study after study indicates the vital link between 'readers' and academic achievement. Those students who read on a regular basis and who read a variety of materials tend to score higher on standardized tests, become better critical and analytical thinkers and go on to greater success in collegiate and vocational careers. Because of that link, the Language Arts faculty encourages and reinforces the need to read year-round. The Summer Reading program is one of several reasons MHBS students excel on the reading sections of the ACT and SAT exams.
