SPECIAL BENEFIT FOR RANDY PARRISH
A Special Benefit Dinner has been planned for Randy Parrish on Friday evening, February 3, 2012, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., in the Melson Dining Hall. Randy has been in charge of our school maintenance for many years and is hospitalized in Huntsville with leukemia. The menu for the Benefit will be spaghetti, slaw, bread, dessert and a drink. The cost will be $10 per plate (plus, any monetary donations are welcome, all of which will be given directly to the Parrish family).

GEOGRAPHY BEE WINNERS
Congratulations to the Grade 4-8 winners in the school's annual Geography Bee. They are John Medley (4), Daniel Morris (4), Macy Wallace (5), Nolan Binion (5), Cara Grace Berry (6), Jackson Turner (6), Lucas Anderson (7), Jacob Hennigan (7), Ariel McMannus (8) and Drake Seal (8).

BENEFIT DINNER SPEAKER
Michael Franzese will be the featured speaker for the school's 28th annual Benefit Dinner on March 9, 2012. He was "one of the biggest money earners the mob had seen since Al Capone, and the youngest individual on Fortune magazine's survey of the 'The Fifty Biggest Mafia Bosses,'" (Vanity Fair magazine), ranking #18, just 5 behind John Gotti. His autobiography, Blood Covenant, tells his story from the early days in the mob and rise to power through his damascus road experience that changed his life forever and led him to do the unthinkable, the unexpected, and by some, the unbelievable - Quit the Mob and follow Jesus. Make your plans now to join us on March 9.

THANKS TO PARENTS!
MHBS has always been blessed with numerous supporters. This year we offer a special 'THANK YOU!' to parents who have donated time, equipment and funds to provide new SmartBoards, SmartTables, Elmos, and laptop computers for our classrooms, for providing funds, time and equipment to upgrade our baseball and soccer/football fields and to provide extra funding so that our Show Choir could move to UNA's Norton Auditorium. Also, thank you to a donor for helping provide new carpeting for the Media Center. MHBS thanks you!
