Every student in the MHBS elementary program participates in art and music programs. Numerous studies indicate that strong Fine Arts programs contribute directly to academic achievement and total personality development. MHBS educates the complete child!

ELEMENTARY STUDENTS IN "THE MUSIC MAN, JR."

Elementary and middle school students took the stage in February when the Drama Department presented the musical, "The Music Man, Jr." in Morris Auditorium. The production was under the direction of Mrs. J. J. Davenport.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Students in grades 1-2 present their annual Christmas program, "The Littlest Christmas Tree." Kaleb Patterson had the lead as the littlest tree while John Medley and Emily Davenport portrayed Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. They were joined by 12 'big trees', eight 'elves' and seven 'tree decorations'. Trees were Lyndsey Brakin, Lucy Clark, Victoria Cochran, Carly Copeland, Elijah Hester, Tyler House, Cameron Mann, Erika Mitchell, Kennedy Payne, Claire Wilkes and Averee Williamson. The elves were played by Garrett Cox, Lillianna Derr, Julia Garrett, Bo Gooch, Claire Lawson, Lillianne Olive, Eli Owens and Kylie Thigpen. Tree decorations were Faith Bowen, Mary Choate, Connor Glover, Nora Hardy, Maegan Jones and Trey Peden.

  • One of the highlights of the year is the annual Elementary P. E. Program presented in the Panther Gymnasium in mid-to-late October. The program features all elementary students as each class performs PE activities. A full gymnasium signals the popularity of the program directed by Mrs. Denise Willingham.
