Many Ways To Support Mars Hill:

    Performing Arts Center Building Fund

  • One million dollars in seed money for a new Performing Arts Center was generously provided by Mrs. Lena Bobo and Mr. and Mrs. James Bobo. Drawings and architects plans are complete. Additional funds have been added to the account and when sufficient funding is available construction will begin.
  • Capital Improvements Board

  • The Capital Improvements Board meets to determine the future improvements needed to keep school facilities in the best condition. The Board recommended updating technology and renovating the middle school roof as top priorities at their last meeting. Both projects are now in the process of being completed.
  • President's Development Council

  • The Council meets once a year in the fall. Members give $1200 per year to assist with school scholarships and operations.
  • Endowment Association

  • Please see the Endowment Association web page.
  • Endowed Scholarships

  • Please see the Endowed Scholarship web page.
  • Memorial Gifts

  • Memorial gifts may be made at any time to recognize individuals or groups. Acknowledgements will be sent from the President's Office immediately confirming the gift and notifying those designated by the donor. This is an excellent way to pay tribute in a manner that helps students and education at the same time. It is a gift that will last.
  • Planned Giving

Determining the monetary value of a Mars Hill Bible School education defies all the odds.

Sure, you can factor in the productive lives of MHBS graduates – the fact that between one-fifth and one-third of the graduates enter a professional school (law, medicine and other health-related fields, engineering, etc.) can be calculated; so can the millions of dollars in college scholarships earned each year. Many other secular features can be factored in such as the increasing number of doctorates earned by MHBS graduates, the value of their cutting-edge research successes, and so on. Each of these is easily measured.

But how can you place a value in the positive moral influence that MHBS graduates exert in their communities and schools and work places? How can you put a price tag on the many souls that will be in heaven because of a unique school like Mars Hill?

Mars Hill makes an enormous difference because it demands excellence – in its students, in its faculty and in its administration. It expects the best, inspires the best, even demands the best. And it does so without access to vast amounts of tax dollars or excessive tuition. The school reaches the peaks of excellence because thousands of alumni, friends, and relatives of students believe in its mission.

Membership in the school's Development Council includes families who pledge a minimum of $100 per month to assist the school. At present there are 75 members of the Council which meets annually at a dinner meeting in the fall dinner, usually during the month of September. "The Development Council serves as the school's most important financial support," notes Dr. Kenny Barfield, Headmaster. "The generous spirit of these individuals make a Mars Hill Bible School education possible. Without their help the school simply could not accomplish many of its objectives. We are blessed by their help. In turn, the Shoals area is blessed with students who become good citizens and who give back to the community."
