A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE
Although one of the newest campus organizations, the senior band quickly developed a reputation for quality. It has earned 16 consecutive superior ratings in district competition as well as superior ratings in music festivals from London to Hawaii. The group has also performed at historic Carnegie Hall in New York City. This is the band's 23rd year at MHBS.
MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND EARNS ANOTHER SUPERIOR RATING
The Middle School Band earned all "One's" at state competition on March 11. The unanimous Superior rating documents MH's long-standing tradition of quality instrumental instruction.
JAZZ BAND DINNER CONCERT:

Senior Stephen Ambrose "plays a mean sax!" at the annual Jazz Band Dinner Concert in Morris Auditorium. The annual November Concert is one of the highlights of the year.

HISTORICAL NOTES
- The first band concert was held in Morris Auditorium on May 7, 1989.
- Mr. Steve Howard served as the band's first director.
- Mr. Joey Krieger is in his 16th year as Director of Bands. He is a graduate of the University of North Alabama with Bachelors' and Masters' degrees in Music Education. His professional affiliations include the Alabama Music Educator's Association, Alabama Bandmaster's Association, The National Band Association and the International Association of Jazz Educators.
